Many people like to go to Lake Alta. All through the months of summer highs here at Lake Alta reach the 80's with night lows in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 40's with temperatures at Lake Alta dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. So many fun things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not sufficient time. The good folks of Truckee-Grass Valley like to hang out close by,
and Lake Alta is a magnificent location to camp, Dutch Flat RV Resort is a magnificent location. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lake Alta has to offer, you can camp at Baxter RV Campground, and pleasant hiking is
available along the Green Valley Trail. There's great hiking along the Euchre Bar Trail, and some exciting geology is available here, Lovers Leap is right here.
Lake Alta is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is
so wonderful. American River - North Fork is a good whitewater spot right next door to Lake Alta, and in the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yuba River - South Fork.
