     A pleasant journey to Upper Canyon Creek Meadows is a great way to spend an afternoon, and there's whitewater on Canyon Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. Alpine Lake is one of the lakes here in the Klamath Mountains. The sight of Little Granite Peak from Alpine Lake is striking; a good spot to camp here at Alpine Lake is Ripstein Campground.
You absolutely must fancy Alpine Lake. Don't miss out on a trip to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area while
 
   you're here at Alpine Lake, and Little Lake is a fine lake nearby. During the summer at Alpine Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's while Alpine Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Near Alpine Lake you come across the Deacon Lee Trail which is a great hiking trail, and you can run the rapids of Trinity  
               River - North Fork.
The amount of rainfall that falls at Alpine Lake is close to the national average; December is the wettest month with most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is bountiful here in the Klamath Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Smith Lake is close by, and why not camp at Big Flat Campground since you're here at Alpine Lake. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Klamath Mountains.
