    The beauty of Alpine Lake is reason enough to stop by. Alpine Lake is regularly a relatively dry place; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and October is the month with the least moisture. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Gaylor Lakes Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Sawmill Campground is a fine spot to camp.

   so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Heidelberg Inn is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; there's great hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12. Yosemite Gateway Motel is a delightful place to get some rest, and why not camp at Saddlebag Campground if you're here at Alpine Lake. Having a good time in the Central Sierra Nevada is painless. No need to travel far to check out attention-grabbing stuff like Conness Glacier, and Tuolumne River  
               is a good whitewater spot nearby.
The John Muir Trail - section 2 offers hiking at its best, and Big Horn Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! Alpine Lake is unbeatable! Mount Conness is trouble-free to spot from Alpine Lake, and a good site for whitewater paddling is Tenaya Creek.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the Central Sierra Nevada has to offer. The slopes of June Mountain are so inviting noone can resist, and you could always explore Lundy Pass. Throughout the summer months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Alpine Lake, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. During the winter highs are in the 40's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Alpine Lake plunge into the 0's.
