     During the days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Alpine Lake. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Alpine Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's tremendous hiking along the John Muir Trail - section 1; the skiing at Badger Pass is tremendous. Alpine Lake is not the only place nearby, Anne Lake is a nearby lake, and Alpine Lake is a good site  
   to visit for more than one day, Upper Chiquito Campground is a good site to camp nearby.
If you're here, you might as well explore Fernandez Pass, and a great close by hotel is dnc -- Wawona Hotel. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! Alpine Lake is unbeatable! A lake nearby is Rutherford Lake, and if you need a location to stay The Ahwahnee is a delightful choice. All the outdoors enjoyable things right next door to Alpine Lake will keep you coming
 
               back persistently.
An average amount of rain falls at Alpine Lake; January is when you get the most rain here; July is when it's the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This location, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors amusing things. Don't leave Alpine Lake without first going for a hike along the Clouds Rest Trail; float down the rapids of Tenaya Creek in a kayak.
Stay the night at Bowler Group Campground, and paddling on Merced River - South Fork is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Alpine Lake; Half Dome Trail is a perfect local trail, and getting to Fernandez Creek from Alpine Lake is uncomplicated. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. The summit of Gale Peak can be made out from Alpine Lake, and Yosemite National Park is a very great place to visit.
