    Alger Lakes is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; June Mountain is near Alger Lakes, and soar down the rapids of San Joaquin River - Middle Fork in a kayak. All through the warmest time of the year at Alger Lakes highs are mostly in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 30's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights  
   at Alger Lakes are in the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Hiking along the Gaylor Lakes Trail is brilliant fun, and a wonderful close by hotel is Heidelberg Inn.
Alger Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Central Sierra Nevada. Take a hike on the John Muir Trail - section 2, and Gem Pass is another great spot to pop by close by. Alger Lakes is a good site of typical rain; January is when you get the most snow here while June is the month with
 
               the least amount of precipitation.
And that's not everything you can do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Blacktop Peak is clearly visible from Alger Lakes, and if you came to camp Aerie Crag Campground is a great spot to do that. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Mammoth Rock Trail, and after a long day outdoors Yosemite Gateway Motel is a glorious site to spend a night or two. So much amusing stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada, just mind-boggling. The skiing at Mammoth Mountain is pleasant. There's so much to do here at Alger Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Trailer Park Campground is a nice spot for that.
