     If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mammoth Mountain is right next door to Alger Lakes; if you need a place to stay Heidelberg Inn is a glorious choice. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do close to Alger Lakes. Blacktop Peak is a peak you can make out from Alger Lakes, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Lost Lakes. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Alger Lakes, and during summer nights  
   temperatures are in the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Alger Lakes overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's.
Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a glorious time. The John Muir Trail - section 2 is a wonderful hiking trail in close proximity to Alger Lakes; Trailer Park Campground is a perfect campground nearby. Not far from Alger Lakes, you'll stumble on Waugh Lake which is a scenic lake,
 
               and you can stay the night at Aerie Crag Campground.
Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Near Alger Lakes you stumble on the Gaylor Lakes Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and if you fancy a little side trip, try Gem Pass. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Mammoth Rock Trail is always a tremendous adventure; a day on the slopes of June Mountain is just what you need. Alger Lakes gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow, and the driest month of the year is June.
Alger Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River - Middle Fork, and a perfect nearby hotel is Mammoth Mountain Inn.
