    It's always fun to stop by Abbott Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Klamath Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Red Bank Campground is a great location to camp, and Abbott Lake is right by the Garden Gulch Trail. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Klamath Mountains will keep you coming back many times. Going for a hike along the Deacon Lee Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Yeah, come here to Abbott Lake for  
   a great time. A magnificent site to go to next to Abbott Lake is Pierces Draw. Lakes are good; Charmaine Lake is a lake that's right next door to Abbott Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Little North Fork Campground, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Cold Springs Creek. There are some good whitewater spots on Salmon River - North Fork, and after a long day outdoors Baymont Inn Yreka is a great site to spend a night
 
               or two. The Klamath Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
Abbott Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; December is the wettest month with most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River, and hiking along the Tanners Peak Trail is nice fun. The warmest time of the year at Abbott Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Abbott Lake during the winter generally drop into the 30's.
