Do stop by Yavapai Lake while you're in this part of Arizona. This lake is so wonderful. Prescott Valley-Days Inn is a great place to get some rest, and Yavapai Lake is right by the Gaddes Canyon Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Verde River. Around Yavapai Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is June.

temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are regularly in the 50's while Yavapai Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's.
