Stay the night at Ten X Campground, and on a tremendous day you can take a hike along the Hance Trail. If the weather is beautiful, you get a tremendous panorama of Buggeln Hill from Twin Lakes, and you'll come across a picturesque lake called Lockett Lake. Lots of folks from Flagstaff come to Twin Lakes, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Grandview Trail. Throughout the long summer days here at Twin Lakes, high temperatures generally get into

| | the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Twin Lakes. Twin Lakes gets very little rain; January is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest of the months is June. Park will blow your mind. While you're here at Twin Lakes, you could also visit gorgeous Potholes. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Twin Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Grand Canyon Camper Village.

Hermit Trail
 | 19 miles away (...) Hermit trail is in the Grand Canyon! And anyone who thinks it will be in the 70's in summer in the bottom of the Grand Canyon is in for a very unpleasant surprise! More like 120 degrees and you can die from that heat. Best hiking time is spring or fall for this trail. Summer is too dangerous, unless you are used to that broiler-oven desert heat. You need a permit to hike this trail, and since it is popular with backpackers, you will have to get it 4 months in advance, and it is not free. If you have never backpacked before they won't issue it to you, either. (...)... |
