Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Black River - East Fork, and some of the water close by flows, like Milligan Creek. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Lakes? Sure, Glen Livet Reservoir is nearby, and       Glen Livet Dam is not far at all from Trinity Reservoir. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Trinity Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Elderberry Spring Campground, and a good nearby hotel is Best Western Sunrise Inn. Take a hike on the Escudilla National Recreation Trail; after a long day outdoors Days Inn - St. Johns is a good spot to spend a night or two. It is very dried up here at Trinity Reservoir frequently; most of the rain falls through                  August; April is when it's the driest. This location, the Mogollon Rim Mountains, has so much outdoors cool stuff. McKay Reservoir is a magnificent lake right next door to Trinity Reservoir. Through the summer months at Trinity Reservoir highs are generally in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for Trinity Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
