There is a delightful hiking trail near Tonto Lake called the Chitty Canyon Trail Thirty Four. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Tonto Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pacheta Lake Campground. That right there is a lot of amusing things already but it goes on, the Mogollon Rim Mountains has it all. A spree to Bee Cienega rejuvenates the spirit, and going for a hike on the Robinson Mesa Twenty-seven       Trail is always a great adventure. For the period of the summer months at Tonto Lake highs are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 50's with temperatures at Tonto Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Really great skiing awaits you at Sunrise Park; float down the rapids of Black River - East Fork in a kayak. You'll wish                  for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Tonto Lake. Very magnificent water scenery is available at Tonto Dam close to Tonto Lake; if you need a place to stay PVC at Roundhouse Resort is a great choice. Tonto Lake is located in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. The Sheep Crossing_Baldy Ninetyfour Trail is a fine hiking trail close to Tonto Lake, and a lake nearby is Pacheta Lake. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Black River - & East Fork offers some splendid whitewater. There's so much to do here at Tonto Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Drift Fence Lake Campground is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. You could also visit Maverick Lake if you're here at Tonto Lake; it's nearby.
