Arizona has many beautiful lakes and Swamp Lake is one of them. Castle Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and Indian Hollow Campground is a perfect campground nearby. At Swamp Lake you don’t see much rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here, and June is when it's the driest. What would a place like Swamp Lake be without attention-grabbing nearby traits like Emerald Point; do set aside some time for Rainbow Plateau while you're here at

| | Swamp Lake. It's always great to stop at Lower Two Spring, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Bass Trail. Looking for a glorious spree? Grand Canyon National Park is pretty in the vicinity of Swamp Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Grand Canyon, Az. This lake is so wonderful. DeMotte Campground is a fine local campground, and if you get bored of Swamp Lake you could also go to close by Dry Park Lakes. | |

During the summer, highs usually are in the 90's at Swamp Lake with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Swamp Lake
fall into the 20's. Having a good time at Swamp Lake is trouble-free. Colorado River is a good whitewater spot close to Swamp Lake; on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Indian Hollow-Thunder Springs Trail Twenty-three.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay The Grand Hotel is a perfect choice, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Tonto Trail.

Hermit Trail
 | 16 miles away (...) Hermit trail is in the Grand Canyon! And anyone who thinks it will be in the 70's in summer in the bottom of the Grand Canyon is in for a very unpleasant surprise! More like 120 degrees and you can die from that heat. Best hiking time is spring or fall for this trail. Summer is too dangerous, unless you are used to that broiler-oven desert heat. You need a permit to hike this trail, and since it is popular with backpackers, you will have to get it 4 months in advance, and it is not free. If you have never backpacked before they won't issue it to you, either. (...)... |
