     A wonderful place to camp here at Slate Lakes is Arizona Snow Bowl Campground, and not far from Slate Lakes you'll come across Crater Lake which is a charming lake. What would winter be without some skiing at Arizona Snowbowl, and Americas Best Value Inn-Flagstaff is a good site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Slate Lakes is not far at all from Flagstaff. Lakes? Sure, Prong Lake is around here. Slate Lakes gets very little rainfall; throughout  
   August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is June.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Slate Lakes. Hiking along the Kendrick Peak Trail is splendid fun. During the summertime here at Slate Lakes, high temperatures typically get into the 80's; the night is fairly chillier of course, generally in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Slate Lakes.
 
               Camping is available at Coconino County Government, and after a long day outdoors S8 Flagstaff Downtown NAU Conference Center is a great place to spend a night or two.
