While you're here at Slate Lakes you will meet lots of folks from close by Flagstaff, and Babbitt Lake is a good lake close by. At Slate Lakes through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the 40's; overnight lows at Slate Lakes through the winter regularly descend into the 20's. Flagstaff -       Days Inn Highway 66 is a perfect spot to get some rest; what would winter be without some skiing at Arizona Snowbowl. Around Slate Lakes you don’t get a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Slate Lakes. While you're here at Slate Lakes you can take a hike along the Kendrick Peak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are other spots here than Slate Lakes, for example Prong Lake.
