Days Inn Globe is a magnificent place to get some rest, and if you've had enough of Simpson Lake, Cottonwood Tailings Pond is close by. Put some time aside to spend at Cameron Spring since you're here at Simpson Lake, and in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gila River. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Simpson Lake. Why not camp at Sulphide Del Ray Campground since you're here at Simpson
Lake, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Miami Tailings Pond is just a very short distance away.
Simpson Lake is a location that is quite dried up commonly; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is June. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Reevis Trail, and Kellner Campground is a good local campground. Throughout the summer months, highs mostly are in the 100's

at Simpson Lake, and the night is rather cooler of course, regularly in the 70's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Simpson Lake fall into the 30's.
A nice close by hotel is Knights Inn Globe, and lots of folks from Payson come here.
