Take a side trip to Tohdildonih Wash, and Bowl Lake Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Chuska Mountains. A lake close by is Sage Lake, and Red Lake is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Tse Bonito Campground is a glorious place to camp nearby. For the period of the days of summer at Red Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's.       Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's while Red Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. The Chuska Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Not far from Red Lake you get some tremendous water scenery at Red Lake Dam; close by Red Valley is a good spot to go. Red Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and Frog Rock is an exciting thing to spot since you're here. Not much precipitation falls here at Red                  Lake; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is June. Man, is there plenty of cool things to do in close proximity to Red Lake. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Navajo Nation Capital is a tremendous place to spend a night or two; from Red Lake you acquire a great sight of Green Knobs. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Chuska Mountains.
