Rainbow Lake is located in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. The warmest time of the year at Rainbow Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. Petes Retreat Pond is a great lake near Rainbow Lake; at Lakeside Dam close to Rainbow Lake there
are some exciting things to see. And if that's not enough there's a lot more exciting stuff to do in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Rainbow Lake Campground is a tremendous campground nearby, and Bear Mountain Inn and Suites is a delightful
place to get some rest. Rainbow Lake is typically a pretty waterless site; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is June.

I'm up here in the White mountains because I am from somewhere where it is to hot and muggy to go out of doors to exercise for months in the hot season. I am eager to go to see Jacques Marsh Wildlife Area. However, the directins to Jacques Marsh is not as easy to find. 7-24-09 caught six rainbows. The largest was twenty inches measured with a tape measure while trolling with a black wooly bugger behind thirty feet of full sink Orvis depth charge full sink line. Note, you will have to work for those fish and it will probably take longer than ten minutes....Agreed, don't bother going here....Never fish here; it sucks.... |
