A quick journey to Ashurst Run near Post Lake is a great idea, and a great close by hotel is Fairfield Flagstaff Resort. This lake is so wonderful. Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument is a tremendous local destination here at Post Lake, and if the weather is gorgeous, you acquire a glorious view of Anderson Mesa from Post Lake. So much exciting stuff to do at Post Lake, so little time. Hiking along the Walnut Canyon                  Loop Trail is perfect fun, and you're probably interested in lakes, Pickett Lake is one of those close by. Not much rainfall falls here at Post Lake; July is when you get the most rain here while June is typically the driest month. The slopes of Arizona Snowbowl are so inviting noone can resist.
