Tom Gollem: Visited on 6/29/08 and found nothing but a dry lake bed. I was expecting at least some water given the good snow cover up north this year. I guess the CAP water has replaced the need for this reservoir.

What a nice lake Picacho Reservoir is. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites FLORENCE is a great location to get some rest, and Picacho Reservoir is not the only site nearby, Lake in the Desert is a nearby lake. For the period of the summertime months at Picacho Reservoir temperatures are mostly in the 100's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 60's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Picacho Reservoir.

| | Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff right next door to Picacho Reservoir. You could also go to Casa Grande Military Reservoir if you're here at Picacho Reservoir; it's close by, and if you need a site to stay Red Roof Inn Eloy is a tremendous choice. Camping is available at Ho Ho Kam Mobile Village, and why not stop at nearby Brady Wash while you're here at Picacho Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Club is a wonderful way to kill some time; a trip to Casa Grande Ruins National Monument is recommended. Picacho Reservoir gets very little precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year
is June. A great site to camp here at Picacho Reservoir is Sunscape Resort, and why not stop by Picacho Reservoir Dam while you're here.
