Going for a hike on the Apache Maid Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and camping is available at Dairy Springs Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument is a national park worth a visit; some out of the ordinary geology is available here, Bass Point is right here. Near Mormon Lake you find the Walnut Canyon Loop Trail which is a nice hiking trail, naturally       you could also go to Wallace Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. If you came for an overnight stay Mormon Lake Trailer Park is a wonderful spot to camp, and Fairfield Flagstaff Resort is a pleasant site to get some rest.
