This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Mingus Mountain Campground is a splendid place to camp, and Verde River is a glorious whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Cottonwood is a delightful location to spend a night or two; Pecks Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. Not much       rain falls here at Mingus Lake; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is June. A great nearby hotel is Jerome Grand Hotel; don't leave Mingus Lake without first going for a hike along the Packard Trail Nmber Sixty Six. High temperatures at Mingus Lake through the summer are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with                  highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Mingus Lake tend to be in the 30's. Going for a hike on the Gaddes Canyon Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and a lake close by is Yavapai Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Powell Springs Campground is a great campground nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Woodchute Trail. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Verde River; an afternoon playing golf at Pine Shadows Golf Course is always a diversion.
