This lake is so wonderful. Quality Inn Cottonwood is a magnificent site to get some rest, and people from Prescott love to come here. It is very dehydrated here at Mingus Lake frequently; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month is June. If you need a location to stay Jerome Grand       Hotel is a pleasant choice. There's whitewater on Verde River for all you thrill seekers, and going for a hike on the Woodchute Trail is always a tremendous adventure. If only every place had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great world it would be. Camping is available at Powell Springs Campground; the peak of Mingus Mountain can be spotted from Mingus Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll hit upon a lovely lake called Yavapai Lake near Mingus Lake,                  and near Mingus Lake you find a golf course called Pine Shadows Golf Course. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Mingus Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; overnight lows at Mingus Lake throughout the winter frequently fall into the 30's. Camping at Mingus Mountain Campground is always a tremendous experience; Black Canyon Spring is a great local attraction.
