This lake is so wonderful. So much entertaining stuff in the Mogollon Rim Mountains, just unbelievable. There's whitewater on Black River - East Fork for all you adrenaline junkies; if you need a place to stay Days Inn - St. Johns is a great choice. Why not camp at Nelson Reservoir Campground while you're here at McKay Reservoir, and lakes are such peaceful locations, why not check out Trinity Reservoir. And that's       not everything you can do here in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Not far from McKay Reservoir you get some tremendous water scenery at Glen Loe Dam, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Escudilla National Recreation Trail. McKay Reservoir is pretty dried out commonly; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and May is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave McKay Reservoir without first                  paying a visit to Robinson Spring; Milligan Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at. Glen Livet Reservoir is a splendid lake close to McKay Reservoir, and do set aside some time for Mesa Sink Hole since you're here at McKay Reservoir. This lake is one of the great places here in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Summer at McKay Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 40's.
