If you are traveling by, why not stop by McKay Reservoir. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Black River - East Fork; a lake close by is Jarvis Lake. Just can't get enough of McKay Reservoir. At Glen Loe Dam near McKay Reservoir there are some exciting things to see; Milligan Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting. Elderberry Spring Campground is a wonderful local campground. McKay Reservoir is generally a pretty dried up site; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is May. Man, is there plenty of exciting stuff
to do in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. If you need a site to stay Days Inn - St. Johns is a wonderful choice. There's so much to do here at McKay Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Nelson Reservoir Campground is a tremendous location for that.
