Man, is there lots of entertaining things to do near Maxwell Lake. Float down the rapids of Salt River in a kayak, and Apache wells RV Resort is a glorious campground nearby. Comfort Inn Fountain Hills is a glorious place to get some rest, and do stop by Val Vista Village Trailer Park Water Retention Basin, it's a beautiful lake. There's great hiking along the Boulder Trail, and during your tour here you'll meet       some people from Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale for sure. For the period of the summer at Maxwell Lake temperatures are commonly in the 100's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 60's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Maxwell Lake temperatures drop to the 30's. Good hiking is available along the Black Mesa Trail, and near Maxwell Lake you find a golf course called We-Ko-Pa Golf                  Club. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Maxwell Lake without first going for a hike along the Second Water Trail, and you acquire a splendid vista of Arizona Dam Butte from here. Maxwell Lake is a location that is relatively dried up frequently; during December this area sees the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. Verde River is a stream that you may stumble upon while here. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Verde River offers some delightful whitewater, and you'll hit upon a pretty lake called Saguaro Lake.
