A journey to Tonto National Monument is worthwhile, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the J F Ranch Trail. Nearby Tule Canyon is a pleasant spot to go if you're at Lower H N Trough, and you'll probably meet some people from Payson here. Stay the night at Roosevelt Lakeview Park.
