     Man, is there a load of entertaining things to do in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Don't leave Lost Lake without first going for a hike along the Horton Creek Trail, and not far from Lost Lake you'll discover Myrtle Lake which is a scenic lake. So much entertaining stuff to do at Lost Lake, so little time. Upper Buck Spring is always fun to check out, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Payson Inn is a magnificent choice. For the period of the summer  
   highs here at Lost Lake get into the 90's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's; during the dark hours in the winter at Lost Lake temperatures dip to the 20's.
The amount of precipitation that falls at Lost Lake is close to the national average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while June is commonly the driest month. So much cool stuff to do here in the Mogollon
 
               Rim Mountains, too magnificent to be true. Lakes? Sure, Lake Number Four is close at hand, and at Lost Lake you can make out Mogollon Mesa. Lost Lake is a beautiful lake in the Mogollon Rim Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. There are great spots to look at along the Myrtle Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel Payson. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Highline Trail is always a great adventure, and camping is available at Knoll Lake Campground.
If you came for an overnight stay Horton Campground is a pleasant spot to camp, and if you want to stop by some out of the ordinary stuff, stop by Myrtle Point.

The area encompassed by the following trail boundaries (including the trails themselves) is closed to support firefighting operations and provide for public safety until further notice: On the west side, from the top of Rim Trail 290 (Col. Devin Trail) and Trail 390 (Railroad Tunnel Trail) down to the Washington Park Trailhead. Closures on the south side are from Trail 31 (Highline Trail) at the Washington Park Trailhead east to Trail 30 (Myrtle Trail). Closures on the east side are Trail 30 (Myrtle Trail) from the top of the Rim south to the intersection of Trail 31 (Highline Trail).

My fiance and I spent a crisp 14 degree night at bear flats, it was absolutely breath taking. The sound of running water washing over the rocks, tall pines, sheer cliffs and at night you would not believe how many stars you could see. ?We were camping near Clints Well and Happy Jack area with our two dogs, Small Beagal and Black Lab.Both females. They took off after bunnies and never came back to campsite.
