close by. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Transept Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites GRAND CANYON is a good place
to spend a night or two. Visiting Grand Canyon National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and since you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Flagstaff. Little Park Lake is pretty dried up typically; during August this area sees the most rain while June is regularly the driest month.

Hermit Trail
 | 15 miles away (...) Hermit trail is in the Grand Canyon! And anyone who thinks it will be in the 70's in summer in the bottom of the Grand Canyon is in for a very unpleasant surprise! More like 120 degrees and you can die from that heat. Best hiking time is spring or fall for this trail. Summer is too dangerous, unless you are used to that broiler-oven desert heat. You need a permit to hike this trail, and since it is popular with backpackers, you will have to get it 4 months in advance, and it is not free. If you have never backpacked before they won't issue it to you, either. (...)... |
