FR 212 Dispersed is a good campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Kaibab Camper Village, and Franks Canyon is a magnificent location to spend some time. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Joes Mud Hole; Bass Trail is a nice local trail. Kaibab National Forest is a glorious spot to go if you're at Joes Mud Hole; after a long day outdoors Red Feather Lodge is a glorious site to spend a night or two. Joes Mud Hole is pretty waterless
regularly. Most of the rain falls through August; June on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Joes Mud Hole through the warm days of summer are in the 70's, and the night is fairly colder of course, usually in the 50's.
