Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn is a fine location to get some rest, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Grandview Trail. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do in the neighborhood of Huff Reservoir. On a delightful day at Huff Reservoir you can take a hike along the Hance Trail, and if you came to camp Flintstones Bedrock City is a tremendous spot to do that. | | typically get into the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 40's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Huff Reservoir through the wintertime commonly dip into the 10's. Huff Reservoir is a location that is pretty arid ordinarily; January is the month that gets the most snow; June is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. campground, and Grand Canyon National Park is a great location nearby. There is a good hiking trail close to Huff Reservoir called the Bright Angel Trail. After a long day outdoors Canyon Plaza Resort is a tremendous place to spend
a night or two, and there are other sites here than Huff Reservoir, for example Oakie Hole. Blue Stem Wash is a great location to go to nearby; not far from Huff Reservoir you'll come across Corbett Dam Reservoir which is a beautiful lake.

 | 18 miles away (...) Hermit trail is in the Grand Canyon! And anyone who thinks it will be in the 70's in summer in the bottom of the Grand Canyon is in for a very unpleasant surprise! More like 120 degrees and you can die from that heat. Best hiking time is spring or fall for this trail. Summer is too dangerous, unless you are used to that broiler-oven desert heat. You need a permit to hike this trail, and since it is popular with backpackers, you will have to get it 4 months in advance, and it is not free. If you have never backpacked before they won't issue it to you, either. (...)... |
