     Tulapai Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to, and lakes are such serene places, why not visit Elk Detention. A magnificent place to camp here at Hill Detention is Ice House CCC Campground. Hill Detention is a location that is relatively dehydrated ordinarily; August is the month that gets the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Apache Gold Hotel; there are  
   other locations here than Hill Detention, for example Rock Gate Detention.
All through the summer months, highs mostly are in the 90's at Hill Detention. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 50's; overnight lows in the 30's for Hill Detention. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Pioneer Pass Campground is always a great experience; if you need a site to stay Days Inn Globe is a perfect choice.
