Not far from Elk Lake, you'll come across McKibbins Pond which is a stunning lake, and hiking along the Salt House Eighteen Trail is great fun. Take a hike on the KP Trail Seventy, and Fish Bench is an out of the ordinary place to have a look at while at Elk Lake. Be careful coming to the Mogollon Rim Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again. Elk Lake is a great place       to visit for more than one day, West Fork Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Black River - East Fork offers some nice whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Lost Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There are some good whitewater spots on Blue River; you can stay the night at Hannagan Campground. Any time is a tremendous time                  at Elk Lake if you go for the outdoors. After a long day outdoors Best Western Sunrise Inn is a delightful location to spend a night or two, and Elk Lake is right by the Chitty Canyon Trail Thirty Four. Elk Lake is a beautiful lake in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. A glorious place like Fish Sink here at Elk Lake is too great to miss; don't leave Elk Lake without first paying a visit to Long Canyon Spring. Summertime at Elk Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 50's; through the dark hours in the winter at Elk Lake temperatures sink to the 20's.
