Dry Park Lakes gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is August; June is the month with the least moisture.  | 19 miles away (...) Hermit trail is in the Grand Canyon! And anyone who thinks it will be in the 70's in summer in the bottom of the Grand Canyon is in for a very unpleasant surprise! More like 120 degrees and you can die from that heat. Best hiking time is spring or fall for this trail. Summer is too dangerous, unless you are used to that broiler-oven desert heat. You need a permit to hike this trail, and since it is popular with backpackers, you will have to get it 4 months in advance, and it is not free. If you have never backpacked before they won't issue it to you, either. (...)... |
