Dipping Vat Reservoir gets a normal amount of rain; August is when you get the most rain here while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Black River - East Fork for all you adrenaline people, and Pool Knoll is striking and can be spotted from here. Put some time aside to spend at 75 Spring since you're here at Dipping Vat       Reservoir, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Crescent Lake. After a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn-Springerville is a glorious spot to spend a night or two, and camping at Rainbow Campground is always a good experience. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Camping is available at Gabaldon Campground, and a perfect close by hotel is Best Western Sunrise Inn. So much                  cool stuff to do at Dipping Vat Reservoir, so little time. Trap Pit is a wonderful spot to stretch your legs a bit, and you can go for a hike on the Sheep Crossing_Baldy Ninetyfour Trail. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Hit the slopes at Sunrise Park in close proximity, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can explore Crescent Lake Dam. High temperatures at Dipping Vat Reservoir during the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and the night is a little cooler of course, regularly in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows during the wintertime for Dipping Vat Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
