Cummings Reservoir Dam is not far at all from Cummings Reservoir, and going for a hike along the Tanque Verde Ridge Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. All through the summertime at Cummings Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 100's with night lows in the 70's. Campground is always a glorious experience, and hiking along the La Milagrosa-Aqua Caliente Trail is nice fun. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop at Gambusi Lake while you're here at Cummings Reservoir; it's close by;
a trip to Saguaro National Park is worthwhile.

We love camping even greater time is swimming. Spencer Canyon Campground including MT.Lemmon has no swimming at all. Rose Canyon Campground has a lake but only fishing is allowed. Dangle your feet and you might find a crawfish. Sycamore Reservoir is even lower in elevation is much hotter than all and a hike in the heat. Summer Haven has a creek that you can dangle your feet in and 1000 higher than all combined and beautiful. Blackberries grow wild and what a sight to behold. If I may add as well we have been visiting Mt.Lemmon for many years and Spencer is cooler than Rose in the summer at least by ten degrees.... |
