Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. All through the winter the highs are typically in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Basin Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. If you like the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Basin Lake. Crescent Lake Dam is a picturesque place near Basin Lake, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sunrise Inn is a magnificent       place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is delightful on Black River - East Fork, and Trap Pit is a beautiful site any time of year. From a precipitation point of view Basin Lake is a rather normal place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and June is the month with the least moisture. This lake is located in the wonderful Mogollon Rim Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Basin Lake;                  Sheep Crossing_Baldy Ninetyfour Trail is a magnificent local trail, obviously you could also pop by Crescent Lake while you're here; it's not far at all.
