     Horse Mesa Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out, and don't leave Apache Lake without first going for a hike along the Baldy Trail. There are some good whitewater spots on Salt River, and you could always explore Fish Creek Canyon. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Saguaro Lake is in close proximity; a great panorama of pretty Black Cross Butte is available. This lake is so wonderful. Gold Canyon Golf Resort is a glorious location to get  
   some rest, and some of the water nearby flows, like Alder Creek.
And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable stuff just keep reading. Go for a hike on the Soldier Camp Trail, and camping is available at Apache Lake Campground. Around Apache Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here, and June meanwhile is the driest month.
Not far from Apache Lake, you'll come across Canyon
 
               Lake which is a stunning lake, and going for a hike on the Alder Trail is always a great adventure. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do right next door to Apache Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Burnt Corral Campground is a nice place to camp; a spree to Apache Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Horse Pasture Spring. For the period of the months of summer at Apache Lake temperatures are mostly in the 100's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 60's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Apache Lake.
What would a spot like Apache Lake be without interesting nearby traits like Walls of Bronze, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Gold Canyon Inn & Suites is a good place to spend a night or two.
