And that's not all there is to do here in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. A great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Pinetop, Az, and Amos Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Bootleg Lake Campground is a good local campground. At Amos Lake you don’t see much precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful.       Summertime highs at Amos Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Amos Lake through the wintertime mostly drop into the 10's. Bootleg Dam is worth stopping at since you're here, and do pop by Bootleg Lake, it's a charming lake. So much fun stuff in the Mogollon Rim Mountains, just mind-blowing.
