A tour to Poland Gap is always fun, and if you've had enough of Troutman Lake, Indian Head Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cadron Creek - East Fork; some nearby water includes Boone Branch. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Troutman Lake has to offer, you can camp at Oakley Estates Mobile Home Park, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? What a location this is for outdoors folks. Glide down the rapids of Bayou Des Arc River in a kayak. There's so much to do here at Troutman Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Tall Pines RV Park is a great site for that. Lake temperatures are mostly in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are mostly in the 40's, and night lows through the wintertime for Troutman Lake tend to be in the 20's.
A great deal of rain falls at Troutman Lake; May is when you get the most rain here, and August on the other hand is the driest. There's always Troutman Lake Dam to explore right next door to Troutman Lake, and Days Inn And Suites - Cabot is a delightful spot to get some rest.

Faulkner Lake
| Well I have fished faulkner lake for about a year and still have no clue on how to catch crappie. It's a clear lake with lots of grass fairly deep from what I have seen with alot of trees near the bank and off the bank so yo's must work well. I do have pictures but have not uploaded them yet................ |
