There are some great whitewater spots on Ouachita River, and Sylvan Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Albert Pike Store and Cabin is a wonderful local campground. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Ouachita Mountains. While you're here at Sylvan Lake you can take a hike along the Gap Mountain Trail, and do visit Tigue Lake Dam while       you're here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sylvan Lake a wet site; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most while January is commonly the driest month. Yep, outdoors amusing things truly is abundant here in the Ouachita Mountains. Strawn Springs is an inspiring spot to explore while here. Now, you may believe that's a load but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Sylvan Lake. At Sylvan Lake you always meet someone from Arkadelphia; Gap Creek is close to Sylvan Lake and is always a pleasure to visit.
