There is a tremendous hiking trail in the neighborhood of Sycamore Lake called the Hideout Trail. Lake Sycamore Dam has great water scenery and it's next to Sycamore Lake, and you can run the rapids of Big Devil's Fork. This lake is one of the great places here in the Boston Mountains. A cool spot to take a look at near Sycamore Lake is Horn Bench, and as expected Bens Branch is a charming stream that       is worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. There are nice places to discover along the Sulphur Trail, and camping is available at Dogwood Campground. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sycamore Lake a wet site; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is January. So many exciting things to do here in the Boston Mountains, too nice to be true. At Sycamore Lake you always meet someone from Harrison; lakes                  are such serene sites, why not go to Hurricane Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Buffalo River, and going for a hike on the Pedestal Rocks Trail is always a tremendous adventure. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Sycamore Lake. Here at Sycamore Lake you can spot Chinquapin Knob, and a nice location to camp here at Sycamore Lake is Hog Heaven RV Park and Cafe. Man, is there a load of enjoyable stuff to do in the Boston Mountains. All our national parks are good places to stop at, and Buffalo National River is no exception, and Hurricane Hollow is also a good place to look at. For the period of the summertime, highs typically are in the 80's at Sycamore Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
