Sycamore Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. Horn Bench is a wonderful place to go to while in the area; there's whitewater on Buffalo River for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Sycamore Lake you can take a hike along the Hideout Trail, and at Sycamore Lake you can distinguish       Chinquapin Knob. That right there is a load of cool things already but it goes on, the Boston Mountains has it all. Why not pop by close by Bens Branch since you're here at Sycamore Lake; if you have time to spare, Buffalo National River is a national park worth going to. Near Sycamore Lake you stumble on nice places like Hurricane Hollow, and you're almost certainly hooked on lakes, Sycamore Lake is one of those close by. This lake is so wonderful. The Sulphur                  Trail is a splendid hiking trail in the vicinity of Sycamore Lake, and why not camp at Dogwood Campground while you're here at Sycamore Lake. The scenery at Lake Sycamore Dam close to Sycamore Lake is gorgeous, and a pleasant place to camp here at Sycamore Lake is Lum's Mountain Guest Ranch. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Sycamore Lake. You're sure to run into some friendly people from Harrison here, and get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Big Devil's Fork. High temperatures at Sycamore Lake throughout the long summer days are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Sycamore Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. Just can't get enough of Sycamore Lake. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Boston Mountains.
