Pedestal Rocks Trail
 | 12 miles away nice walk had a few trees down blocking the trail (jan ice storm) but a crew from ok was clearing the dead fall i thought it was neat to look thru the cracks in the rocks and see the drop of many feet to the ground... |
Alum Cove National Recreation Trail
 | 19 miles away 2 PHOTOS On the trail... The trail below the natural bridge is covered in dead trees due to the winter ice storm. The trailhead down to the bridge has been cleared. Memorial Day weekend 2009.
Other than that, the trail offers sandstone caves, wet weather waterfall, small stream, and one of the largest natural bridges in the country. You actually walk across the bridge and follow the trail underneath for a panoramic view of the bridge. Very easy hike!... Some of my extended family and I went out over the weekend of 1/17/2009 for a birthday get-away for a nephew. We stayed in an awesome cabin. Here is one picture we took while hiking the Alum Cove Trail. (error while uploading picture)... |
