It's always fun to stop by Surge Pond. Just can't get enough of the Ouachita Mountains. If you came to camp Salem Pines Mobile Home Park is a good location to do that, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Bryant is a good choice. Take a side visit to Cold Spring Branch; dry warm beds await you at Vista Inn and Stes Little Rock. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is always beautiful.

| | are such peaceful places, why not stop at Timber Lake in the neighborhood of Surge Pond, and if you're dropping by from Little Rock-North Little Rock, you won't be the only one. Surge Pond Dam has great water scenery and it's close to Surge Pond, and Rock Creek is a good whitewater spot close by. The high level of rain makes Surge Pond a relatively wet place; May is the month that gets the most rain; January is when it's the driest.

there's a lot more amusing things to do in the Ouachita Mountains. There's so much to do here at Surge Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Branch Hollow Mobile Home Park is a good site for that. This lake is so wonderful.
Hot Springs National Park is a good local destination here at Surge Pond; in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Saline River - North Fork. During the months of summer at Surge Pond
highs are regularly in the 90's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 50's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Surge Pond fall into the 20's.
