You'll need more than a day to look at everything Surge Pond has to offer, you can camp at Branch Hollow Mobile Home Park, and Cold Spring Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit. This lake is so wonderful. Surge Pond is located in       the Ouachita Mountains. While you're here at Surge Pond, you could also go to delightful Old Brown Mud Lakes. There's so much to do here at Surge Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Salem Pines Mobile Home Park is a delightful site for that. This site is peerless, just look at all the exciting stuff to do in the neighborhood of Surge Pond. Get wet paddling on Rock Creek, and Surge Pond is not far at all from Little Rock-North Little Rock. And if that's                  not enough there's a load more entertaining stuff to do in the Ouachita Mountains. Soar down the rapids of Saline River - North Fork in a kayak, and do go to Surge Pond, it's a stunning lake. Surge Pond is a quite wet place generally with a good deal of precipitation; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here while January is regularly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Hot Springs National Park is a great national park, and dry warm beds await you at Vista Inn and Stes Little Rock. High temperatures at Surge Pond during the days of summer are in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's.
