A spree to Hot Springs National Park is worthwhile; lots of people from Little Rock-North Little Rock come here. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ouachita Mountains. Surge Pond gets a good deal of water; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Ouachita Mountains. After a long day       outdoors Super 8 Motel - Bryant Little Rock Area is a delightful spot to spend a night or two, and Surge Pond Dam is not far at all from Surge Pond. So many cool things to do at Surge Pond, so little time. A stunning lake like Old Brown Mud Lakes in the neighborhood of Surge Pond is a magnificent place to have a look at, and whitewater paddling is glorious on Rock Creek. Vista Inn and Stes Little Rock is a great spot to get some rest; Branch Hollow Mobile                  Home Park is a great campground nearby. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Surge Pond reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually in the 50's with temperatures at Surge Pond dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. So much fun stuff in the Ouachita Mountains, just striking. Saline River - North Fork has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by, and there's some flowing water close by, Cold Spring Branch is a stream you can have a look at while you're here.
