Lake Thunderbird
 | In the summer of 1967 as a teenage boy I visited my father; he was living south of Ravenden at the time. He was employed by a contractor to work on the then future ''Thunderbird Lake''. I went to work with him one day and rode in a dump truck as he brought out load after load of rock and gravel. I think of that summer anytime I think of my father; it was a great summer for me and, dad, I miss you more than I can say.... |
Woody's Canoe Rental and Campground
 | 16 miles away Woody past away in 2007.? The canoe rental and campground is closed.? This place will be missed....My family and I went to Woody's Canoe Rental and Campground a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful weekend camping and canoeing. They have water and electricity at all camp sites. They have new canoes and kayaks and a small store on site. The river is beautiful and cold. Woody told me there are a 100 springs that feed into this river. I would highly recommend this campground.... |
