If you are in Newton county it's always a good idea to stop by South Pond. All the water falling down from the sky makes South Pond a wet site; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The warmest time of the year at South Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter

check out Briar Bluff while here. So much amusing stuff to do at South Pond, so little time. Just can't get enough of South Pond. Near South Pond you stumble on the Hurricane Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and since you might
be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Weatherby Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Taking a little tour to nearby Buck Point is a perfect idea, and naturally, A spree to Sawmill Hollow is always fun. And if that's
not sufficient there's plenty more fun stuff to do in the Boston Mountains. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Harrison, Ar is a wonderful place to get some rest, and the Alum Cove National Recreation Trail is a delightful hiking
trail nearby. Do pay a visit to Buffalo National River since you're here at South Pond; you don't must go far to enjoy Henry Koen Experimental Forest.
South Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Top Of The Mountain
Park is a nice local campground; paddling on Buffalo River is so much fun. This lake is one of the great places here in the Boston Mountains. Going for a hike on the Cherry Ridge Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and why not take a little tour to Hoskin Creek since you're here.
