During the long summer days highs here at Smith Lake reach the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Smith Lake. Camping is available at Crater of Diamonds State Park; going       for a hike on the Gypsum Trail is always a good adventure. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Of Hope is a great site to spend a night or two; T A Smith Lake Dam is a scenic place. Smith Lake frequently gets a great deal of rain; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; January is when it's the driest. Camping at Miner's Camp is always a fine experience, and there is a wonderful hiking trail close by called                  the Kizzia Trail. Americas Best Value Inn and Suites is a tremendous location to get some rest. Be careful coming to Smith Lake, you might not ever wanna return home again.
