Beautiful Shady Lake has much to offer visitors. This lake is located in the wonderful Ouachita Mountains. Much rain falls at Shady Lake; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. What a place this is for outdoors people. Go for a hike on the Gap Mountain Trail, and a fine place to camp here at Shady Lake is Queen Wilhelmina State Park.
All through the days of summer highs here at Shady Lake reach the 80's. During the

| | moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Shady Lake are in the 20's. Shady Lake Dam is a location that is right next door to Shady Lake; hey, East Saline Creek is a brilliant local stream. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Harris Creek, and camping at Wolf Pen Gap Atv Campground is always a delightful experience.

stuff to do here in the Ouachita Mountains. A tremendous panorama of lovely Tall Peak is available from Shady Lake, and there's whitewater on Saline River for all you adrenaline people. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await
you at Western Plaza Inn, naturally you could also stop by Shady Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! The Ouachita Mountains is great!.
