If you like lakes and you're in this part of Arkansas you can check out Shady Lake. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Some of the water nearby flows, like East Saline Creek, and if you came to camp Wolf Pen Gap Atv Campground is a pleasant location to do that. Summertime highs at Shady Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 40's

| | while Shady Lake nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Harris Creek, and there's always Shady Lake Dam to go to in the neighborhood of Shady Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Shady Lake. After a long day outdoors Western Plaza Inn is a glorious location to spend a night or two.
Shady Lake typically gets a lot of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest
month. And if that's not enough there's a heap more exciting things to do in the Ouachita Mountains. There are some great whitewater spots on Saline River, and Shady Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Queen Wilhelmina State Park is a tremendous local campground.
