It's always fun to stop by Ricks Pond. Ricks Pond is a pretty wet place mostly with a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is January. Visiting Hot Springs National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet; you're probably into lakes, Desoto Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Why not stop by Lower Dam Number One since you're here; Big Chalybeate Spring is a scenic location to explore while you're at Ricks Pond. Now, you may believe that's loads but there's even more cool things to do here in the Ouachita Mountains. Hot Springs Mountain is pretty and can be observed from Ricks Pond. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Ricks Pond. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Ricks Pond drop
into the 20's. Camping is available at Hot Springs RV Park, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Saline River - Middle Fork. Springs Hotel and Spa is a pleasant place to get some rest.
This lake is located in the
wonderful Ouachita Mountains. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! The Ouachita Mountains is so good! A good place to camp here at Ricks Pond is Gulpha Gorge Campground; if you come at the right time of year, Gulpha Creek offers some good whitewater.
