Ricks Pond is a beautiful lake in the Ouachita Mountains. There's always Desoto Park Dam to stop by in the vicinity of Ricks Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There are some good whitewater spots on Gulpha Creek; if you're here you can play some golf at Magic Hills Public Golf Course. If you adore the       outdoors you'll adore it here in the Ouachita Mountains. The Gorge is a wonderful place to have a look at close by, and camping is available at Hot Springs RV Park. A glorious nearby hotel is Travelier Inn, and Hot Springs National Park is a very wonderful location to stop at. For the duration of the warm days of summer highs here at Ricks Pond get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come                  with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Ricks Pond temperatures drop to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Saline River - Middle Fork; a great site to camp here at Ricks Pond is Gulpha Gorge Campground. All the water falling down from the sky makes Ricks Pond a wet place; all through May this area sees the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Ouachita Mountains. Ricks Pond is a location with many visitors from Hot Springs, and you're possibly interested in lakes, Desoto Lake is one of those close by. If you like the outdoors, you'll fancy Ricks Pond.
