Reeds Lake is a wet site that gets a great deal of rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is January. Round Mountain is clearly visible from Reeds Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Big Creek. Through the summer at Reeds Lake highs are usually in the 90's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down       into the 60's. During the wintertime highs are typically in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Reeds Lake plunge into the 20's. You don’t have to go far from Reeds Lake to spot the water at Reeds Lake Dam, and some of the water nearby flows, like Horsepen Creek. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Ouachita Mountains rules! Lake Wilhelmina is a nearby lake that you could explore. Be careful coming to Reeds                  Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. Take a hike on the Billy Creek Trail, and Horse Heaven Ranch is a great campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous nearby hotel is Days Inn; while you're here, you could also take a look at gorgeous Ivey Lake. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Ouachita Mountains. There's whitewater on Kiamichi River for all you adrenaline kick people, and Reeds Lake is a good site to visit for more than one day, Rich Mountain Country Store is a good site to camp nearby.
