During the winter the highs are commonly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Owens Lake are in the 20's. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Ouachita Mountains. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do in the neighborhood of Owens Lake. Why not stop at close by Little Piney       Creek if you're here at Owens Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Gutter Rock Creek. Owens Lake gets a common amount of yearly rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is January. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ouachita Mountains. And if that's not enough there's plenty more fun stuff to do in the Ouachita Mountains.                  Camping at Cove Lake Campground is always a great experience, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites CLARKSVILLE is a perfect place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A lovely lake like Blue Mountain Lake in close proximity to Owens Lake is a brilliant place to have a look at, and if you come at the right time of year, Big Shoal Creek offers some glorious whitewater. There's always Jones Lake Dam Number One to explore close to Owens Lake; a fine spot to camp here at Owens Lake is Spring Lake Campground.
