In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Lake Norrell Spillway, and dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn & Suites-Maumelle. This lake is so wonderful. Open Pond is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Blue Sky       RV Park is a delightful place to camp nearby, and if you get bored of Open Pond you could also explore nearby Lake Maumelle. A tremendous view of pretty High Point is available from Open Pond. Pfeifer Camp is a great local campground, and there are plenty of people from Little Rock-North Little Rock here at Open Pond. A trip to Hot Springs National Park is worthwhile; after a long day outdoors Days Inn North Little Rock / Maumelle is a glorious place to spend a                  night or two. For the period of the summer months at Open Pond highs are typically in the 90's while nighttime lows are typically in the 60's.
